Club treasurer

Public Invitation for Expressions of Interest in the Role of Club Treasurer

Dear Parent / Guardian,

As you may be aware, Enniskerry FC is a community-based club with in excess of 300 boys and girls, playing in about 20 different teams. All our coaches, managers and committee members operate on an entirely voluntary basis. The organising of teams, liaison with the leagues, pitch marking, training, merchandising, club finances, facilities, child welfare, coaching takes a dedicated team of people to keep everything running smoothly each year. Additionally, the smooth running of the various events we host during the year does not happen without the dedication of a small number of people.

As the club continues to grow from strength to strength, the workload for our volunteers increases meaning that we need more people to help us out to ensure the ongoing success of the club. There is only so much a small number of people can deliver and we want to ensure your child gets the maximum enjoyment they can out of being a member of Enniskerry FC.

Retirement of Current Treasurer

To that end and due to a re-organisation of committee responsibilities, we are currently looking for someone to join our committee and take on the role of Club Treasurer.

Andy Coulson – Thank You from the Club

Our current Treasurer, Andy Coulson, has for the last three years served the club as Treasurer (and committee member) with dedication, diligence and distinction. Thank you Andy for your service in the role!

Treasurer Role Description

To fill this role we are ideally looking for someone comfortable with the following role description.

What is the role of the club treasurer?

It is important that the club keep accurate financial records, and the treasurer is the main person who takes on this responsibility.

In essence, the Treasurer is the day to day financial manager at the club, working closely with the committee, in order for informed decisions to be made.

The role is ideally suited to someone who has

  • has experience in managing funds/cash and has an accounting/book-keeping background
  • enthusiasm
  • good organisational skills
  • good communication skills
  • honesty and integrity
  • a good eye for detail
  • the time to do the role (roughly three hours per week)

If you would like to be part of our team and help us continue to grow the club, then please contact me by Friday 31st May at the details below for further information.

Alternatively, please feel free to get in touch with a committee member (Jonathan Bennett, Andy Coulson (retiring), Derek Kavanagh, Don Clarke, Mags O’Grady, Micha Bogaard, Wayne Kelly).

Many thanks.

David Miller
